Atlantic coastline and dunes at Sandwich Harbour
12-day safari

The Namibia Classic.

Twelve days through the dunes, coast and wildlife country of Namibia. A useful first outline, with the nights and road days adjusted around the things you most want to experience.

The familiar route, thoughtfully paced

Sossusvlei, Swakopmund and Etosha make a strong first introduction. Spitzkoppe, Damaraland and Okonjima can add different perspectives, but each extra stop uses time. We’ll work through the balance with you before confirming the itinerary.

Decide where to linger

If the dunes are your main reason for coming, protect the nights there. If wildlife matters most, give Etosha more time. This twelve-day outline shows a possible sequence; a longer trip or fewer stops may be a better fit for your pace.

One journey. Many landscapes.

This route brings together Namibia’s very different landscapes without making wildlife the only reason to travel. There are days on the road, days on foot, and time to sit quietly and watch.

The route, day by day

Day 1 · Windhoek

Arrive in Windhoek and settle into the first lodge. Leave time to recover from the flight and begin your introduction to Namibia.

Days 2–3 · Sossusvlei

Travel into the Namib Desert. Explore the dunes and Deadvlei, with time for Sesriem Canyon. Early starts make room for the changing light.

Days 4–5 · Swakopmund

Continue to the Atlantic coast. Use Swakopmund as a base for Walvis Bay and a guided Sandwich Harbour excursion. A scenic flight can be discussed as an optional addition.

Day 6 · Spitzkoppe

Head inland to the granite peaks. Explore the rock formations and discuss guided climbing if you would like a more active afternoon.

Day 7 · Damaraland

Travel north into rugged country. Slow down for wide views and time at the lodge, with locally guided activities shaped around your stay.

Days 8–9 · Etosha

Continue to Etosha for wildlife viewing. Allow a full day for game drives and patient stops at waterholes. Sightings always depend on conditions.

Day 10 · Okonjima

Travel to Okonjima for the final wildlife-focused stop. Ask about available tracking excursions when your dates and accommodation are confirmed.

Days 11–12 · Windhoek & departure

Return to Windhoek for a final night before your airport transfer. The final schedule will be matched to your flight times.

Choose how you travel

Self-drive

For travellers who enjoy independence and are comfortable with long driving days. Route planning, accommodation, and vehicle arrangements give the journey its structure.

Privately guided

Travel with a local driver-guide, leaving more of your attention free for the landscape. A guided journey can be adapted to your interests and pace.

What to confirm in your proposal

Ask for a dated itinerary with the exact overnight stays, vehicle arrangements, meals, park fees, activities, and transfers. Flights, optional experiences, and other extras should be itemised clearly.

The final route, accommodation, and cost depend on your dates and preferences. Enquire for a current proposal.
