Morocco

Begin in Marrakech and decide how far you want to go. A riad, a few days in the mountains and a journey towards the Sahara each deserve their own time, with good meals and generous pauses along the way.

A place to return to in Marrakech

A stay in the medina works best when you have a base you enjoy coming back to. Dar Lara is part of Sol Collection. Its courtyard and rooftop offer a different pace after time in the city; explore the property’s own page for the details.

Make room for the road south

The mountains and the Draa Valley are part of the journey towards the desert, not simply ground to cover. Kasbah des Caids is another Sol stay to explore. If the Sahara matters to you, we would add nights and plan the driving properly rather than force it into a short city visit.

Places and experiences

01

Marrakech

Medina lanes, courtyard architecture and gardens make a full city stay. Ask about Dar Lara as your Sol Collection base, with the details of the stay confirmed for your group.

02

The Atlas

A mountain chapter gives the trip a different pace. Choose a base and walking plans around the season, your fitness and how much time you want outside.

03

Southern Morocco

Explore the idea of kasbah country and a longer desert route. Distances matter here; we would plan overnight stops before adding a Sahara camp.

Leave time between the landmarks.

In Marrakech, leave a morning open for the medina and an afternoon for your riad. A slower city stay makes a good contrast with walking in the Atlas Mountains.

Marrakech and the mountains

  1. Nights 1–4

    Marrakech

Settle into a riad and explore the city over several days. Keep a mix of guided time and room to wander.

  2. Nights 5–7

Atlas foothills or a mountain base

Choose a stay suited to the season, with walking or simply a slower few days. Transport and guides are arranged around the chosen location.

  3. Night 8

    Marrakech

Return for a final evening and a straightforward departure the following day.

  4. With more time

    Continue south

Add several nights for the longer road journey towards the Sahara. We will map the actual stops and driving days before confirming.

When and how to visit

01

City days

Plan the amount of walking around temperatures and your preferred pace. A shaded courtyard and a slower afternoon can be part of the day.

02

Mountain plans

Conditions change with altitude and season. Choose the walking route and guide locally rather than assuming one itinerary works year-round.

03

Desert extensions

Ask for realistic road times and comfortable overnight stops. A scenic route still needs enough time to enjoy it.
